Less Than a Week Away!
The NARM is next Wednesday. I've been studying for the last two and a half months. I guess I'm as ready as I'll ever be!

Things I learned from Anne Frye
Ok, I know I said I was shutting this blog down but I had to do this post on here because hardly anyone is reading my new one yet. Plus this is midwifery related.
I have been reading Holistic Midwifery II in preparation for the NARM, and I am learning all kinds of cool things. Here are a few highlights:
* Playing the bass may cause you to have a bowel movement.
* Cats like to eat placentas, but only if the baby is healthy.
* It is abnormal for newborns to have a unibrow.
* Your midwifery kit should be roughly the size of Texas and should include a chin up bar, a computer chair, a deBy birthing stool and a sharp knife (as well as many, many other things). I can just see this little conversation as the midwife unpacks her knife. Parent: "Uh...what's THAT for?" Midwife: "Oh, I use it to slice up the placenta. Would you like yours filleted or diced?" HAHAHAHA! I think if there is truly a need for cutting the placenta I will just buy a knife off of the parents instead of carrying one around. I wouldn't want my midwifery kit being confused for kidnapping gear.

Moving...
Well, since everyone is commenting about how I should change my user name I've decided to finally do that. Not only have I changed my username, but I have also moved over to Revelife instead of Xanga. They are all interconnected anyhow. My new user name is MrsDoubleU at Revelife. I'm not sure how to go about adding you all as friends over there. It's been so long since I started on Xanga that I forget how to do it. But if you can figure out how to add me as a friend under my new identity, go for it!
I will still check this from time to time.

Update
Ok, I guess I should update (or so I am told). I have had several job interviews in the past two months but none of them have worked out. I'm getting a little tired of the "we've decided on another candidate" routine. Anyway...I've been wondering if maybe God doesn't have other plans up His sleeve. I am looking into the possibility of getting involved in missions here on the homefront. More on that later...
Chris and I went to a local fleamarket today to try to sell some of the junk we decided we didn't need. It wasn't very fruitful but we did at least make up what we had to spend to rent a space and made about $25 on top of that. A partial tank of gas anyway. I don't recommend going to a fleamarket when it's 100 degrees. We had a covered space, so that was good but I still got a headache even though I was drinking water the whole time. According to the people next to us, who sell there every week, this was a slow day. Oh well. We're not going back. The rest of the stuff is either going in the trash or to Good Will.
Studying for the NARM is going pretty well. I've concentrated mostly on prenatal up until now. I really need to brush up on postpartum and newborn. Those have always been my weakest areas. Maybe that's because Anne Frye hasn't come out with her Vol 3 yet. Haha.
Well, Chris is already asleep so I better head that way.

Etc jobs on Craigslist
You know, there are some weird people advertising jobs on Craigslist. The other day I saw an ad to become a "phone actress" (read telephone porn star). Training is provided. *sick*
Today I saw one from a man who is supposedly getting a sex change operation and wants help with women's fashion/hair/make-up advice. He is willing to pay someone $15/hr to help him. Must send a photo and have a dominant personality. *shudder*
